This study proposes a hermeneutical analysis of the context of the parable of the Good Samaritan in the Gospel of Luke, articulating the biblical text with the thought of Paul Ricœur. Our perspective is philosophical, therefore, it seeks to understand how responsibility emerges from language and structures the relationship with the other. The Ricœurian reading allows us to recognize the presence of an original calling inscribed in the biblical tradition, in which love and justice form a fruitful nexus. By integrating this analysis into a broader perspective, we seek to show how the hermeneutics of the text can illuminate social spheres, opening space for an ethical reflection that transcends the logic of equivalence. Our hypothesis is that the parable of the Good Samaritan presents a modality of relationship founded on compassion, capable of guiding a rationally articulated ethics, sensitive to otherness and adequate to contemporary demands.
